GLVT is currently hiring seasonal full-time labourers, experienced and entry-level, for the upcoming summer season.

Employees that complete a minimum of 6 months in one working season are eligible to receive a yearly bonus in cash-flow positive years.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be punctual and dependable
- Follow directions from your foreman or supervisor.
- Perpetuate quality workmanship and honesty.
- Be open-minded and willing to learn our policies and procedures.
- Perform all duties with a general awareness of safety and hazards. Abide by GLVT safety program.
- Perform skilled manual labor including but not limited to: raking, shovelling, wheelbarrowing, sweeping, etc.
- Operate and maintain various hand and power tools
- Complete pre-start checks on equipment and job checklists
WORKING EXPECTATIONS
- Working outside consistently with exposure to all seasonal weather conditions in a physically demanding environment.
- Long hours including overtime (up to 12-hour days), all days of the week, including weekends, and possibly for periods of 14-21 days straight
- Work in areas with minimal access to amenities
- Work all over Western Canada, or in remote locations (based in Alberta)
- Employees will supply PPE – CSA certified Steel Toe Safety Boots (GLVT will provide all other PPE).
- Employees are required to wear pants /jeans and a long sleeve or at least 4” sleeve shirt/ t-shirt.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to lift up to 30 kilograms and carry up to 100 meters
- Must be willing to fulfill Working Expectations listed above.
- Must have their own vehicle, a valid class 5 driver’s license, and provide their own transportation to Edmonton and the surrounding area. Transportation for out-of-town work will be provided.
- Good communication skills
- Must have a personal phone with data to use our time management and scheduling app.
- Experienced labourers must have at minimum skid steer experience, with other equipment experience preferred.
- Experienced labourers must have experience with safely loading and securing equipment and supplies
- Experienced labourers must have a good driving record and be willing to provide a driver’s abstract
ASSETS
- First Aid, CPSI CAN -Z14 certificate or other valid safety certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent or any post-secondary education
- Experience working outdoors
- Landscaping experience
- Experience in playground, spray park, or park space construction
- Experience operating construction equipment
- Experience operating truck and trailer
- Reading grade stakes or construction drawings
- Experience using a laser level
Safety is one of our guiding principles. As such, all employees are required to show proof of full vaccination or produce a negative PCR test every 72 hours per AHS Restriction Exemption Program guidelines.
SALARY
Full-time Labourers – $20 – $24/hour depending on any related experience as determined by GLVT management.
Job Type: Full-time Temporary/Seasonal.
